In the years since the Grenfell Tower tragedy, the UK has entered a new era of scrutiny, responsibility, and reform within the built environment. The introduction of the Building Safety Act 2022 marked a significant turning point – placing safety, accountability, and culture at the heart of how we design, construct, and manage high-risk buildings.

At Isoler, we believe that meaningful change doesn’t happen in legislation alone. It happens on the ground – in the conversations we have, the knowledge we share, and the standards we set together as an industry.

That’s why we’re proud to be hosting the Building Safety Conference in the North East.

While national policy and regulatory frameworks have evolved in the wake of Grenfell, there’s been a noticeable absence of large-scale, focused industry events in the North East – a region with a significant stock of high-rise and high-risk buildings, and a dedicated community of housing providers, contractors, consultants, and enforcement bodies working hard to improve safety outcomes.

We believe that the North East deserves a seat at the table when it comes to leading the conversation on building safety. And more importantly, we believe the region is ready to take on a leading role.

This event isn’t just a conference. It’s a platform for progress – an opportunity to bring together professionals from across the built environment to reflect on where we are, understand where we need to go, and build a clearer path forward.

Our chosen theme reflects our belief that the future of safe, compliant buildings relies not on individuals working in silos, but on collective action.

  • Better reflects our commitment to improving building standards, operational practices, and long-term outcomes for occupants and stakeholders alike.
  • Safer underscores the essential goal of the Act and Isoler’s work: to reduce risk and enhance fire safety and structural integrity across all building types, especially higher-risk buildings (HRBs).
  • Together highlights the importance of collaboration across the construction industry, public sector, regulators, and safety professionals — because lasting change and compliance are only possible when we work collectively.

By hosting this event, we hope to spark more than just discussion – we hope to build momentum. We want to bring national reform closer to local action, and we want those working in the North East to feel not only informed, but empowered to lead the change.

This is just the beginning.
